This charming vintage 1943 edition of Stephen Foster and His Little Dog Tray was written by Opal Wheeler and features illustrations by Mary Greenwalt. Stephen Collins Foster, known as "the father of American music", was an American composer known primarily for his parlour and folk music. This book shares the story of a young Stephen Foster who grew up with the gift of music that he honed as a member of a minstrel band. This copy is in used vintage condition with the dust jacket missing, cracking and peeling to the edges of the cover (especially the spine that has been taped) along with some scuffs and marks of discoloration. The original owner's name is written on the front end page, but there are no torn or marked pages and good overall color quality.
