This fascinating vintage 1948 hardcover edition of American Children Through Their Books was written by Monica Kiefer, who traces the development of various phases of child life, including religion, manners and morals, education, health and recreation, through an analysis of children's books from 1700 to 1835. This copy is in used vintage condition with some small tears and hole to the edges of the dust jacket which is protected from further damage with a plastic sleeve and paper backing. The original owner's name is written on the front end page which does have a crack at the spine and there is some discoloration inside the front and back covers, but there are no torn or marked pages and excellent overall color quality.
