This fascinating vintage 1954 hardcover book club edition of Seven Years in Tibet is a memoir by Austrian mountaineer Heinrich Harrer. It's about his escape from a British internment camp in India during WWII and his subsequent seven years in Tibet. The book details his incredible journey into the "Forbidden City" of Lhasa, his experiences living among the Tibetan people, and his role as a tutor and friend to the young Dalai Lama. This copy is in used vintage condition with some minor wear to the edges of the dust jacket. The original owner's bookplate is on the front end page and there are some marks to the copyright page as well as a stamp and some glue residue on the back end page.
