This precious vintage redware pottery teapot was made in Japan by Norcrest and features a sweet black cat in a jaunty yellow hat. The piece has a lovely glossy black glaze with hand painted details in blue, pink, red, yellow and gold. It is in used condition with fading to the gold painted details (around the eyes, the whiskers on the cheeks and eyebrows). There is also significant paint loss to the yellow hat, along with some light spots to the black glaze, but the piece has no chips or cracks and vibrant overall color quality.
